While many players were fearing a substantial nerf, the HDR was actually only handed a slight reduction on ADS speed, decreasing to 600ms from 510ms. This makes the sniper less snappy to use, especially if you’re pushed by a team and need to react quickly.

It’s also a kick in the teeth to quickscopers who rely on their sniper for all ranges and don’t run an Assault Rifle or SMG to cover close-quarters fights.

However, when it comes to the HDRs main strength — picking off enemies from insane distances — it’s just as powerful as before.

Its damage and range have been left completely untouched, meaning it can still one-shot at any range as long as you land a headshot. So, if you’re accurate and hitting shots consistently, you’ll have no issues deleting teams from across Verdansk.

The real concern is that the slower ADS speeds will make it tougher to land follow-up shots or reduce your ability to lock onto a new target after a kill. However, you can get around this by staying zoomed in whenever possible, allowing you to quickly take a second shot if they don’t go down the first time.

With all this in mind, the HDR is set to be the meta weapon in Warzone once again in Season 3 Reloaded. Just remember that it can’t one-shot in Ranked Play, so be sure to keep that in mind when building your loadout.
