FURIA continued their great form at ESL Pro League Season 15 after taking down Sprout 2-0. Andrei "?arT?" Piovezan and co. opened up the series with a solid CT side on Ancient, setting them up for a 16-11 victory before closing the affair on their map pick of Mirage 16-12.
The boys from Sprout continue their EPL adventure without a map to their name, facing tough odds if they want to advance to the playoffs, with matches against FaZe, Outsiders, and an in-form ENCE on the horizon. Meanwhile, FURIA carry on their good form after defeating Outsiders on the previous day and are in a great position to challenge an underperforming Vitality on Friday at 12:30 .
The series got started on Sprout's pick of Ancient, with Rafael "?saffee?" Costa providing an opening ace to give FURIA the pistol. The Europeans quickly responded by converting a force buy in the second round thanks to a couple of Fritz "?slaxz-?" Dietrich Deagle shots on A, leading to a short streak of rounds in favor of the Europeans. Once the Brazilians settled on the CT side and the two AWPs came out, things got easier for them, stringing nine consecutive rounds to close the half ahead 11-4.
Switching to the defensive side gave Sprout the opportunity to come back in the game, taking the pistol and cutting their deficit to 9-11 as Victor "?Staehr?" Staehr began to find impact. FURIA stopped the bleeding on round 21, with André "?drop?" Abreu and Kaike "?KSCERATO?" Cerato converting a crucial post-plant on A, tipping the balance in favor of the Brazilians again. Ancient finally went the way of FURIA at 16-11, with KSCERATO a the top of the scoreboard with a 29-14 K-D and a 1.66 rating.
Moving into Mirage, Sprout kickstarted the second map in good form, converting the opening pistol and the following three rounds before a crazy hero AWP from arT put an end to their run. The second map had all the pillars of a classic FURIA match: aggressive offensive rounds, unusual buys, and crazy arT moments on their way to take the first half 9-6.
Despite conceding the second pistol, FURIA responded immediately with a force buy of their own before sailing to a 14-7 lead. Sprout were eventually able to salvage a few offensive rounds, countering the Brazilian double-AWP setup with quick pushes on B to limit their deficit. It would all come crashing down on round 28 when FURIA stopped the Europeans' attempt on the B site, claiming the map 16-12 and the series 2-0.
