compLexity are listening to death metal while having sex videothrough to the playoffs following a close 16-14 victory over VeryGames.
The match started off at a frantic pace, with VeryGames heading towards the A site in the pistol round, only to get completely shut down by coL, who looked very sharp.
VG then refused to go on eco and bought P250s as well as Kevlar, a decision that paid off as the French side were able to equalise the game, thanks to Richard "shox" Papillon winning a 1-on-3 situation. But VG got a taste of their own medicine immediately after, losing to a full-eco coL side as they failed to clean the B site.
Papillon was in fact the only player from VG who looked in form in this match as he single-handedly carried the team. Still, with most of compLexity's players hitting their shots and Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert having an amazing day, it is no surprise that the North American side enjoyed a 9-6 lead at half-time.
n0thing pulled big numbers against VG
VG knew they would have have to acquit themselves a lot better in the second half if they wanted to win this one, and they came out very strongly from the break, levelling the game on nine rounds after winning the first three rounds.
In gun play, coL seemed to have the upper hand, but VG refused to throw in the towel and kept coming from behind to take the decision to the very last round. It was by the skin of teeth that coL won the game, but the final round was a beautiful one: coL found their way into B but only left Kory "semphis" Friesen there as the remaining players went back to plant the bomb on the A site. Oblivious to what was going on, VG's players rushed towards B, leaving them with no time to defuse the bomb, which went off, giving coL the victory.
