The ESEA Advanced Season 43 has ended, with Apeks ending up victorious after defeating Monte in the best-of-five final 3-2. Martin "?STYKO?" Styk's team came back from 0-2 down in the series after their opponents went into the game with an automatic one-map lead, earning the $7,000 first-place prize and a place in ESL Challenger League S44. Monte have also secured their spot in the ESL Challenger League's next season, regardless of losing the final.
The regular season started on October 24th and featured 103 teams, all vying to secure one of the 32 playoff spots up for grabs. Once in the playoff stage, the most successful teams duked it out for two places in the ESL Challenger League Season 44 and eight spots in the ESL Challenger League Season 43 Europe Relegation tournament, as well as the lion's share of the $20,300 prize pool.
Apeks's victory comes after a tough few months for the team, who withdrew from the previous season of ESEA Advanced in September. "Due to our current state we have decided to withdraw the main CS team from all competitions." Apeks said in their announcement at the time. "Our results have been far from good enough and we need time to reflect and evaluate until we feel ready."

Papillon from the active roster, with Apeks Head of Esports Anders Kj?r revealing that the team will trial "several different in-game-leaders." During the regular season, they tried out Nicklas "?gade?" Gade and Hansel "?BnTeT?" Ferdinand, but eventually used Micha? "?MICHU?" Müller as their fifth in the playoffs, despite the Polish rifler not being an IGL. Apeks are yet to confirm who their fifth player will be since benching shox.
With Apeks and Monte securing their places in ESL Challenger League S44, teams such as EYEBALLERS also secured spots in the ESL Challenger League Season 43 Europe Relegation tournament, which starts on December 16th. The 16 teams in attendance are set to fight for a further six spots in next season's Challenger League. Some of the notable teams in attendance are 500, HEET, and Kenny "?kennyS?" Schrub's Falcons. SINNERS are also set to make their first official outing with Tomá? "?oskar?" ??astny at the event.
