The 45th annual Terminal Islanders Picnic will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, at George Bellis Park, located at Knott Ave and 8th Street in Buena Park.
Entertainment will be provided by L.A. Kayo and Pihemanu, with games and races for children, “Tanko Bushi” odori and a traditional mochi-maki. Raffle prizes include a television, an iPad, $100 cash and many more items. A special-edition 45th anniversary T-shirt will be sold for $20.
The book “Terminal Island: The Lost Communities of Los Angeles Harbor,” co-authored by Naomi Hirahara and Geraldine Knatz, will be offered at $35 with 100 percent of the proceeds to go to the Terminal Island Memorial Monument.
Bento lunches will be available by pre-paid order only at $15 each, which must be received by June 5.
