When I moved into my last apartment, it was the thick of summer, and I was prepared to buy a new AC to keep my bedroom cool. Washable rugs may seem gimmicky — do you really need to be able to wash your rug? However, as someone who is both an allergy sufferer and the owner of a very messy cat, I've become a washable rug convert.
